Kristen Berry

Kristen Berry founded the education program for JWorld and coaches and competes at significant regattas throughout the U.S. and internationally. He is known by many St. Pete and Davis Island sailors, where he spends much of each winter coaching competitors in the J-70 winter series and other regattas, including Women’s Performance Week.

He is also the director of North U and will become the Director of Performance Sailing for American Sailing (formerly ASA.)

Dave Perry

Dave grew up at the Pequot (PEE-quat) YC in Southport, CT, where he developed his love for sailing in Blue Jays, Lightnings, and Lasers.

He was a 2x All-American and captain of the Dinghy National Championship Team at Yale.

He’s a 5 time Match Racing National Champion and 2-time winner of the Congressional Cup.

He was second at the 1984 Olympic Trials in the Soling

He’s a National Judge and Chair of the US Sailing Appeals Committee

He has been the Rules Advisor to several Olympic and America’s Cup Teams, including the US Sailing Team at the 2024 Olympic Games

In 2020 Dave received US Sailing’s most prestigious award, the Nathaneal Herreshoff Award for outstanding contribution to the sport, and was inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame

Dave’s authored three books explaining the rules and tactics of the sport which are popular throughout the world
